WHAT IS RADIOLOGY?

Radiology, also known as diagnostic imaging, is a series of tests that pictures or images of parts of the body. The field encompasses two areas:

DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY

• INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Above both use radiant energy to diagnose and treat diseases. While there are several different imaging exams, some of the most common include X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, CT scan and PET scan.

A radiologist will look at the outcome of a certain imaging test to find a relevant image that evaluates and supports a diagnosis. These individuals are usually radiologist doctor (MDs) with highly specialized training focused on the interpretation of medical imaging. Radiology technicians also aid in this Process, as they use and manage the machines in the course of producing an image. After a patient undergoes imaging tests, radiologists will give reports of their interpretations to the referring clinical doctors.

• DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY:

Diagnostic radiologists use medical imaging to diagnose and treat diseases. They can use a variety of different imaging methods, such as:

• X-rays
• Ultrasounds
• Doppler studies

INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY:

Interventional radiologists use medical imaging to provide therapy to people with noncancerous conditions.  For Example, an interventional radiologist might use medical imaging to support a surgical procedure. This imaging can make surgical procedures safer and lead to faster recovery times. Procedures like Biopsy, fluid aspiration from various body cavity or joint, intraarticulare injections, pain management injections etc are some of the examples and can be done at BIMS hospital.

• RADIATION ONCOLOGY:

A radiation oncologist uses radiation-based therapy to treat cancer. This therapy involves the use of high energy radiation to damage cancer cells, which stops them from spreading further. It can help reduce symptoms or, in some cases, cure the conditions entirely. This facility is not available at BIMS Hospital.

MARUTI IMAGING is an advanced radio diagnostic centre just besides BIMS hospital where 24X7 MRI & CT scan facilities are available with the latest equipments. BIMS hospital indoor patients can be shifted to this centre in their own patient’s beds so patient comfort is maintained all the times. In case of neurological emergencies and poly trauma conditions, our setup is a blessing as shifting of critical patients for diagnostic studies can be done from emergency room BIMS hospital to MARUTI IMAGING on hospital bed only without wasting precious time. BIMS hospital has official tie up with MARUTI IMAGING for providing priority services to our indoor and outdoor patients.
